RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES


We thank all mighty God who enabled us to serve in His vineyard in the year of 2011. The spiritual activities of the DRA department were a great blessing to the Staff and students of AMC.  We had different activities for the student and staff members in order to grow in the knowledge of the Lord. We praise God for providing three chaplains in the DRA department.

First day of every month, combined service was organized for the staff and students at chapel, Dr B Wesley, Director would be sharing the word of God.  It was a great blessing for all the staff members and students. 

Every day starts with prayer and devotions and every day two services are conducted in the Chapel. The first service starts at 7:00 am for the students and nurses, the second service start at 7:45 for the office staff.  The chapel roster has been prepared and all the staff members get an opportunity to share the word of God in the morning chapel services.

Sunday Services:   In Sundays’ three services are conducted in three different places. The first service is in Community Care Centre, where the HIV/AIDS infected and affected patients and their relatives attend the service.  God is doing wonderful things in this place.  It has been reported that number of people accepted the Lordship of Jesus Christ in their life and decided to become a Disciples of Christ. The second service conducted in TB ward, people are showing much interest to listen the word of God.  It has been observed that they are showing interest to be part of the services.  Patients are coming forward and sharing their needs and asking the chaplaincy department to pray for them. The third service has been conducted in the evening at Chapel, where students and staff members attend the services.  After they go from the hospital some of them are fully convinced that they need Christ in their life, the physical, emotional and relationship healing takes place in the ward services.   This year we have started Tamil Service for the student; all the students are showing interest and participates the service regularly. 

Every Friday evening 8:00pm to 9:00pm fasting prayer has been conducted for the students and staff members. All the students and some staff members participate in prayers.

Anniversary was celebrated on July 19, 2011 at AMC, The Rt. Rev Dr. Varaprasad, Bishop RD, challenged the community with the word of God.  The local pastors witnessed this occasion by being part of this event. 
Healing Ministry Week: In February 2nd week we have celebrated CMAI healing ministry week with the theme of “Transforming Lives”, for the entire week different activities were planned and executed.  Every day morning combined services were conducted in different places and all the staff members and students took part in all the activities.  The local church pastors were invited to share the word of God for the entire week.  The different activities has been conducted such as, visiting the prison, visiting the patients and sharmadhanam in campus, retreat for the senior staff members in the  hospital premises, seminars for all the departments. The special one day retreat was conducted to all the students in order to help them to understand the ethos and values of AMC and healing ministry week.  The entire week Fasting and All night prayers from 6:00am to 6:00am conducted in the chapel, all the students and some staff members attended the services.  It was a great blessing for the community of AMC.  On healing ministry Sunday, AMC community attended the St.Luke Sunday service and challenged the congregation to have a concern towards sick and suffering. The entire week was a blessing to all the AMC community.

In the Month of August Bible Quest was conducted for the staff children and students, it was organized by India Campus Crusade for Christ.  In the month of December, Christmas Service and Watch Night service has been conducted in chapel.

In the month of December numbers of spiritual activities were conducted in different departments and in Chapel. The Christmas programs were conducted in different departments and each department got opportunities to perform skits, songs and others programs in the recreation hall.  The two carol services are conducted in AMC families also in the different wards in hospital.  The different projects of AMC, college & school of nursing students were given Christmas programs in the recreation hall.  The entire AMC community/family remembered the Christ birth and given glory to His Name. 

It has been observed that most of the patients come to the chapel with faith and praying unto God for their needs and God answers their needs. We praise God for all His guidance in DRA department.
